Babies*
is run on a Tuesday from 10.00 - 12.00 at the Pennypit Centre in Prestonpans.
The set up
comprises scales to weigh your baby (from the age of 6 weeks) where the
health visitor or staff nurse from the health visiting team will be in
attendance. The health visitor is also available to have one-to-one
discussions where advice is sought.
We have
workshops which include toilet training and weaning. These are run
on a regular basis by the health visitor. Other workshops may
include – bug busting (head lice treatments), fire safety and prevention,
and road safety. We also run baby massage, breast feeding, toddler classes and
exercise classes on a regular basis.
Crèche facilities are available when attending workshops.

Patchwork Toddlers*
is run on a Monday and a Wednesday from 10.00 - 12.00 at the Community
Centre in Prestonpans. There is lots of space and toys for toddlers to
interact with their peers and a cafe area for parents to enjoy a coffee
and a chat. We have an activities programme which includes healthy eating,
exercise and craft workshops.
* PATCHWORK BABIES IS AIMED AT
BIRTH TO 1 YEAR AND PATCHWORK TODDLERS FROM 1 YEAR TO 5 YEARS. THIS IS TO
ENSURE THAT THE BABIES ARE SAFE AND THAT THERE IS CRÈCHE SPACES FOR OLDER
SIBLINGS. HOWEVER IF ANYONE NEEDS TO SPEAK WITH A HEALTH VISITOR THEY CAN
